Contract or Full Time Software Developer
Company Overview:

Lead by industry experts and leveraging hedge fund trading techniques you will help build a predictive analytics platform that studies consumer response patterns and display the most relevant advertisement possible per impression. The company is located in the Manhattan Beach, California area and is looking for an enthusiastic individual to help build out this new and exciting product for market.
Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced back-end developer to build out our lead routing and optimization platform. The work will involve a combination of enhancing and hardening a working prototype and building new features from scratch with guidance from a Lead Architect, a Product Manager, and Business Owners. The platform routes advertising leads through customized templates to the optimal advertiser for each lead. It provides extensive data tracking and logging, and exposes that data via a REST/XML interface for consumption by a Flash-based user interface. This interface also allows real-time monitoring and configuration of the routing control systems. The platform is written in Perl and runs on Apache on Linux, and in production will utilize a cloud platform like Amazon's EC2.
Travel and Location:
Contractor: This position will require some in-person meetings in Bellevue, WA and potentially some travel to Manhattan Beach, CA, but most of the work will be done via telecommuting.
Full Time Employee: This position will require being located at the office in Manhattan Beach, CA, with some travel to Bellevue, WA.
Qualifications:
5+ years experience developing database-backed web applications using Perl and Apache
Module development
mod_perl
templating systems (HTML::Mason, HTML::Embperl, Text::Template, etc)
Database design – MySQL/PostgreSQL/MS SQL/DBM/GDBM/etc
DBI/DBD and tied hashes
Experience providing and consuming web services and APIs
Perl Modules: LWP, JSON, XML::Simple, XML::Parser, etc
Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS
Excellent communication skills
Up-beat, can-do attitude
Desired Skills:
Experience working with large-scale template-driven website creation
Experience integrating various forms of 3rd party advertising (Google Adsense, Kontera, etc) into websites
Experience with AJAX & Javascript
Experience working with EC2 or other cloud computing platforms
Experience working with API-driven Flash applications (Flash experience a big bonus!)
We Offer:
Contractor or full time position. Expected commitment of 40 hours / week. Timeframe TBD but initial expectation is for at least 1 month of dedicated work.
