Rock & Republic is currently seeking a Technical Designer for our Non-denim division that is highly knowledgably in constructed woven and knit categories.
Specific Duties / Responsibilities:
•Serve as technical partner to Design teams; review flat sketches to develop measurements and suggested blocks based on fabric selected
•Compile information relative to fabric usage and yield, marker, trim, face card, sewing instructions and measurements, colorization detail, size grading, and special trim instructions (trim send-outs) in order to create a new or modify an existing tech pack for multiple production sources
• Measure X approve samples from pre-pro, all the way to TOP’s
• Attend fit sessions and take accurate notes to improve fits
•Act as liaison between Production Team and Overseas or domestic factories
•Oversee final technical specifications
Requirements:
•College degree or minimum of 5 years experience in technical design
•Proficiency in Gerber, PDM, PAD, Word and Excel required
•Ability to properly measure garments according to manual standards
•Knowledge of grade rules
•Good fit skills and the ability to lead a fitting, either on a live model or a form
•Knowledge of flat pattern making and the ability to determine fit issues based on garments and/or patterns
•Fabric sourcing
•Strong knowledge of fabrication
