This is a loyal, and peaceful dog, as well as affectionate and obedient. All he needs is someone to share a little space with. Everything else will be provided.

He is a great companion. Casper is wonderful at peace and quiet for unlike most dogs he rarely barks for he cannot hear. Casper is NOT a needy dog and with a calm loving environment he settles in easily--getting his 12 hour beauty rest.
If a foster can be found Casper's daily walkings (morning and evening) will be provided and his food. This sweet dog is 33 pounds, 8 years young, in great health and neutered.

The LA2K Project is seeking about 2000 healthy volunteers from the Los Angeles
area to participate in a research study of the genetic bases of memory and
impulse control. If we can learn more about these important brain functions,
there is hope that we can better diagnose and treat mental illnesses.

The study is directed by Dr. Robert Bilder and his colleagues at the Semel
Institute for Neuroscience & Human Behavior at UCLA. The project is sponsored
by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

You may be eligible if you are:
Healthy (no diagnosed medical or psychiatric illness, and no recent
treatment for drug or alcohol abuse)
Receiving no medications that affect brain function
Between the ages of 21 and 50
White (not of Hispanic or Latino descent) OR Hispanic or Latino
Have completed 8 or more years of education
Able to communicate effectively in English

Participants will visit UCLA on three to four occasions and spend about 10 hours completing interviews, questionnaires, and psychological tests (e.g., tests of memory and impulse control). A urinalysis will be used to test for drug use, and a small blood sample will be taken for genetic analyses. Volunteers will be paid $15/hour for their time, and parking plus public transportation expenses will be reimbursed.

Peace be upon everyone.

Thank you for reading my post.

I have an idea for a website that i believe will potentially change the world. The website i speak of is meant to break down superficial understandings of religions in the world by interconnecting the sacred texts to prove that they are all basically saying the same thing which is to Love one another unconditionally; like the love my family has for me and the love i have for my family but extending that love to everyone you know.

Here is the current state of my idea: i have programmers laying the foundation for the website, setting up basic features like chatting on the site, pictures, etc.

what i currently need is to design the style of the website, basically make it attractable to all age groups and design a layout which can convey what i'm trying to do very easily and openly so that people can understand and comment what is going on in the website.

this is the team i need to put together. i need a group of dynamic individuals; of all age groups who use the web frequently and can brainstorm and put together a layout for the website paying close attention to detail and features for the site.

I'd say about 10 people including myself should be a good enough number to design this site.

I have an office very close to LAX on West Century Blvd with a big conference room that can be used to meet and discuss and draw up ideas. We can meet however many times a week (3 days a week i'm thinking) for a couple hours each day. I am the property manager for the building being used so a couple hours out of the day should be ok as i have my brother who also works as the property manager.

The website will be a non-profit organization so once it gets up and running i can pay you. I intend the organization to be a long lasting one so there will be a job for you after if all goes well.

The whole website is based on this equation: Knowledge + Wisdom = Understanding. The knowledge portion is what i have described above and the wisdom and understanding correlate with knowledge.

I wrote a little thing on the website some time ago outlining the basics of the website explaining all 3 portions (knowledge, wisdom, understanding). Sojourn was founded in 1977 on a bedrock philosophy of empowering individuals. We provide information and options to our clients and advocate for women�s rights at the grassroots level. We make our services available and support our clients in whatever choices they feel are the most appropriate and safe.

Sojourn needs volunteers to answer our hotline, facilitate support groups for women, conduct children's groups, and provide emergency response to police and medical facilities.

Our volunteers receive training that complies with the domestic violence counselor training program mandated by the state of California and is free of charge to those who can commit to 6 months of volunteer service.

The LA2K Project is seeking about 2000 healthy volunteers from the Los Angeles
area to participate in a research study of the genetic bases of memory and
impulse control. If we can learn more about these important brain functions,
there is hope that we can better diagnose and treat mental illnesses.
The study is directed by Dr. Robert Bilder and his colleagues at the Semel
Institute for Neuroscience & Human Behavior at UCLA. The project is sponsored
by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

You may be eligible if you are:
Healthy (no diagnosed medical or psychiatric illness, and no recent
treatment for drug or alcohol abuse;
Receiving no medications that affect brain function;
Between the ages of 21 and 50;
White (not of Hispanic or Latino descent) OR Hispanic or Latino;
Have completed 8 or more years of education;
Able to communicate effectively in English

Participants will visit UCLA on three to four occasions and spend about 10 hours
completing interviews, questionnaires, and psychological tests (e.g., tests of
memory and impulse control). A urinalysis will be used to test for drug use, and
a small blood sample will be taken for genetic analyses. Volunteers will be paid
$15/hour for their time, and parking plus public transportation expenses will be
reimbursed.

We really need you to come up and make a difference - I know it's kinda far for some but it's really only 1/2 hour past Magic Mountain but on the 14 fwy. We have a new play yard so if you want you can just play with a dog in the play yard, watch them play in the pool, they love the pool : ) or even give one or two a bath on these long hot days. We would love to have you up there- so I'm asking some of you to come up for even a few hours or just one, these are some amazing dogs and I know they would love to meet you. Leashes and water provided. You can even bring treats if you want and make some new friends. : )

The Julia Dean Photo Workshops (JDPW) is now hiring Course Assistants and Work-Study personnel to help administer photography workshops. As a course assistant you will be able to take our workshops at no charge in exchange for helping the class run smoothly, such as AV/computer support and greeting students. As a work-study you will work a set amount of time during our normal business hours or at various special events and/or exhibit openings, and be paid via "trade hours" towards the purchase of a photography workshop.

Mind-Body Interactions in Stress-Related Disorders

Research to study mind-brain-body interactions with stress, pain, and coping.

We are inviting participants in health enhancement programs (such as meditation and yoga) to sign up and participate in a year-long Internet-based survey to study the effectiveness of complementary and alternative therapies, and the interactions among stress and coping, pain, and treatment outcomes.

The survey is called PROCAIM, which stands for Patient-Reported Outcomes from Complementary, Alternative, and Integrative Medicine. PROCAIM is a multi-site research project linking participants in health enhancement programs, patients, treatment providers, and researchers interested in improving health and well-being through the various integrative therapies, including mind/body approaches and complementary and alternative medicine.

PROCAIM was developed by UCLA researchers under a grant from the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine. Participants will have access to clinical information and recent research findings relevant to their concerns that are regularly posted on the PROCAIM web site.

This is a web-based study composed of surveys that will recur at intervals over 1 year!
