Web Developer
Position based in Santa Monica, CA
Reports to the Vice President of Internet Products
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated web developer to deliver next-generation destinations for entertainment content, social applications, and other services. You'll be working with a small, world-class technology team on leading-edge applications for a company with a successful internationally famous entertainment brand.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for developing the presentation tier and database back end of new large-scale sites.
• Maintain and expand current member based web properties delivering video content.
• Convert IA/UI layouts to fully-functional web sites
• Integrate site-level features with dynamic services on the back-end
• Define server-side requirements to architect appropriate solutions
• Optimize and tune the experience for optimal performance and user experience
• Ensure browser compatibility across the supported platforms
• Quickly resolve production issues and defects as they arise
Requirements:
• BS degree in CS or equivalent experience
• Solid experience delivering rich, complex user experiences over the web
• 5+ years of PHP and Javascript including clean, well-structured code and advanced DOM manipulation
• Strong LAMP experience with ability to service complete end-to-end solutions.
• Apache Server Administration
• 5+ years of CSS including complex uses, multiple layers and rule prioritization
• Experience using AJAX to deliver interactive, in-page features
• MySQL and MS SQL knowledge required.
• Pluses - Experience working in: ActionScript, Cold Fusion, C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, Windows Server Administration, and computer hardware configuration.
• Experience with PhotoShop, Flash, Dreamweaver a plus.
• Able to work independently, on accelerated deadlines, without sacrificing quality or consistency
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• The legal right to work in the US

• You're passionate about high-performance web pages and lie awake worrying about the user experience
• Have an eye for detail and a good sense for what does and doesn't work for consumers on the web
• A independent, can-do attitude and desire to work closely with all tiers of the application to produce a polished result
