A talented and prolific writer/editor is needed to help us poke-fun at the economy, the government, and the Federal Reserve. Your writing style should be confident and conversational with a touch of dry wit and sarcasm. The subject matter is global economics, monetary history, and precious metals. We teach what we call “Real Economics”… economics that everyone can understand. We take a complex subject like economics and reduce it to its simplest essence so that everyone can understand it.
This is a fun, fun, fun job. You will be working in a beautiful setting, in the heart of Santa Monica, in an office that has panoramic views from the city to the ocean. You will be working with a great team of researchers, a graphic artist/animator, and an editor/cameraman. Your job will be to transform the insights and observations of our CEO (the author of the best selling book on precious metals) into the production of books, articles, educational videos, and a weekly newsletter.
Responsibilities include:
Entertaining conversational writing style with a touch of dry wit and sarcasm
Understanding of basic economics
Ability to interpret complex economic and financial data, then boil it down the simplest of terms so that everyone can understand it
Ability to define technical terms so that you speak over no one’s head
Ability to create simple analogies for complex subject matter
Must be prolific, writing an abundance of material each week
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; highly analytical
Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in multi-tasking environment and adapt to changing priorities
Self-starter with a positive attitude
Interest in global economics and monetary history a plus
Must be local to the west side of Los Angeles
Hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
