We are a new media startup seeking interns to start at ground zero in building a new business unlike anything else on the Internet today. Our focus is on cultural objects and consumer passion, and we're looking for avid readers, movie-goers, music fans, comic book fans, and students of contemporary pop culture to help shape our core web and mobile products.
Potential candidates should be:
Avid readers with a deep interest in one of the following genres: crime fiction/noir, contemporary American fiction, contemporary European fiction, travel fiction, espionage fiction.
Comic book fans with a deep knowledge of the Vertigo product line and contemporary noir Comics.
Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate literature, comparative literature, film/tv studies, cultural studies program.
Available for a minimum of 20 and up to 30 hours per week.
Ideal candidates will also demonstrate:
A unique perspective on the genre of their choice, and the ability to communicate it succinctly and authentically in prose.
A constant hunger for discovering GREAT books, movies, music, comic books, and tv shows - both current, and from the recent (1900+) past.
The ability to understand and communicate the relationships between cultural objects across multiple mediums - e.g., books to film, art and film, music and movies.
