favorite this post Retired prep school teacher with special training in tutoring (Palmdale, Lancaster) hide this posting unhide

Tought basic physics and math through calculus-differential equations. To work my way through college and three years of grad school, I applied what I studied by designing and building state-of-the-art electronic devices for a high security government R&D center and at Indiana University. Some of those devices could have been patented.

At my prep school in Honolulu, Hawaii, I also helped my students with writing skills such as doing research-term papers and how to address a registrar at college admissions.

At a nationally recognized educational center in Hollywood, I got trained in a special kind of tutoring. I then applied that tutoring technology for two years at that center on a volunteer basis. I tutored any grade level even adults who had missed some of the three Rs in their schooling. The results were nothing short of miraculous. Results that would be the envy of any dedicated teacher.

Wanting to learn how to write, I studied journalism and have well over a million words to my credit. Presently, I have a novel and screenplay in progress getting thumbs up from people in the Industry.

Tought German-French and linguistics at Indiana University which has the the highest ratings in the country for their language departments. I still do the final proofreading for publications that go to Germany for an international organization in Hollywood.

Nevertheless, it is quite gratifying to see my students lighten up when I was able to help them "to get it."

My fees are $25 an hour with a minimum of $50 for any home visit. The same fees apply when meeting at a library or coffee shop. I am available most afternoons and evenings. My results are guaranteed. If my student feels he was not helped, he/she or the parents owe me nothing.
