Japan Ukiyo-e Play Picture Harunobu “Akekasumi Meisho No Watashi”
This is a vintage copy of the ukiyo-e “Akekasumi Meisho No Watashi” in Beni suri-e by Harunobu Suzuki, an Ukiyo-e artist in the Edo period.
Benisuri-e is a color rubbing print before Nishiki-e.
Kabuki actors in the 1700s, Ichikawa Kamezo I and Segawa Kikunojo II are depicted.
Harunobu Suzuki is one of the six great Ukiyo-e artists.
He played a decisive role in the birth of nishiki-e, a multicolored woodblock print, and had a great influence on the development of later Ukiyo-e.
