"Darkness Recedes," a 2004 painting (acrylic on panel) by American artist Jim Wright, is a dramatic conversation starter. The original work is signed, dated, and titled on the back and in excellent condition.
The painting is VERY large at 54 inches tall by 76.5 inches wide and heavy. It also has to be carefully stored/transported, as the acrylic "grass" extends below the panel. Prior to hanging, it can be stored either horizontally on its back or vertically upside down, with the top of the painting on the ground, which is how it has been stored to date.
The painting is located on the second floor of a residential building (no elevator). You will need two people to move it and a large vehicle for transport, such as a cargo van, pickup truck, or box truck. Please take careful note of the dimensions. The price reflects the hassle, as the painting was estimated to be worth between $2,000 and $3,000 in 2023.
