Diana Neville Knowles is a prominent portrait artist.
Excerpted from bios on Diana: Diana has completed more than 22,000 portraits for clients around the globe. Her reputation has grown steadily as she accepted portrait commissions from celebrities in sports, entertainment and political arenas. Her subjects have included Presidents Ronald Reagan, John Kennedy, Gerald Ford, Richard Nixon and Jimmy Carter. Her portrait of Patricia Nixon hangs in the First Ladies Gallery at the Smithsonian in Washington DC. They hang on walls as far off as Russia and Argentina depicting wealthy influencers, past presidents and musical icons. Diana has done 18 presidential commissions, 13 paintings for the Vanderbilt family, Mayor Daley, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Johnny Carson, Joe DeMaggio and many other celebrities. She has taught over 10,000 students.
Diana is in her early 80’s. A few years back she closed her website where one could see many examples of her work. However, she still has a gallery during the summer season, teaches classes, and takes commissions from her studio in Bigfork, MT. Her gift is still in demand.
The story on this portrait is that it is I and my cats in November 1971. She was exhibiting her talent in a prominent spot at the Stardust Casino and Resort in Las Vegas during its heyday. We watched her create portraits as well as display some work. She told me I should get a portrait. I declined. Next day she handed me a proposed sketch. I was transfixed. So were my coworkers who said I had to get this portrait. I did. An artistic friend insisted on making me a custom frame to compliment it. The frame gets almost as much praise as does the portrait.
Along with the photos of my portrait I will post some of her work I could find online including these as examples of her work and value. This is just to give you a representation of her great talent. I was lucky to find her and get a portrait done in her early career:
1. Bridal Veil, mixed media, framed size 16.5"x 22.5".....$2000
2. Lacy Lady, mixed media, framed size 28.5"x 36.5"....$5000
We are retired and downsizing, and rehoming much of our favorite things.
