ISO search of an efficient and proficient team player to come on board as a key member of the film going forward in 2026. Wanting this film to be bold, aggressive, raw, clean yet with a certain grit just looking for the right fit for post-production editing. A young at heart but old fashioned storyteller with a deep emotional connection to the characters while driven by the music.
Looking for a decisive editor to cut down the assembly cut to a working rough cut (100 minutes) during the month of FEBRUARY 2026. 25 minutes of finished footage per week.
Project begins JAN 26 and pays $250 a week every Monday starting on FEB 2 with the first rough 25 minutes of footage being completed. The final payment on the week of FEB 23 upon completion of the 100-minute rough cut. This rough cut will be used in submitting to film festivals (raising additional funds) and we will visit the possibility of hiring the editor for final cut with a negotiated pay scale based upon our experience with the rough-cut process. Role & Responsibilities:
Taking assembly cut and transforming it into a compelling narrative, focusing on storytelling, music and emotional depth.
Perform editing, trimming, sequencing, sound balancing, and color correction/grading.
Incorporate graphics, music, and sound design to enhance the story.
Meet with Director once a week for 1 hour that includes weekly cash payment, watching the 25 minutes of completed editing, transfer footage, brief notes/ feedback, etc. You won’t have anybody micro-managing the story structure is in place and will be your guide. If you can cut you will see a very hands-off approach from us and let you do your thing.
A good attitude with a strong desire to be a part of this project/ team.
What We're Looking For (Qualifications):
Proven experience editing – send a reel and any related work
Expertise in editing software (prefer Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro)
Exceptional eye for pacing, rhythm, and narrative structure.
Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and transfer in an efficient manner.
A passion for music and film.
