NRC Research Institute, with locations in Orange and Los Angeles, CA is currently enrolling patients into our Bipolar research studies! Our studies are attempting to understand if new medications are safe and effective at treating symptoms associated with bipolar disorder.


Bipolar Disorder, also known as manic-depressive illness, is a disorder that causes extreme mood swings that include emotional highs (mania or hypomania) and lows (depression).


If you have BIPOLAR disorder, you may be eligible for our current studies.

Common Mania Symptoms:
-Feeling up, high, or elated
-Having a lot of energy or feeling hyper
-Feeling jumpy or wired
-Talking a lot or talking fast
-Feeling like your thoughts are going very fast
-Having an increase in activity levels
-Engaging in risky behaviors
-Trouble sleeping

Common Depression Symptoms:
-Little interest or pleasure in doing things
-Feeling down, depressed or hopeless
-Trouble sleeping (too much or too little sleep)
-Feeling tired or having little energy
-Poor appetite or weight loss
-Feeling bad about yourself
-Feeling tense, edgy, anxious or nervous
