Lemon Poppy Kitchen is seeking an experienced line cook for our breakfast daytime service.
Our restaurant has been a hub of the Glassell Park community since 2012, and over the years
has evolved from a hole in the wall strip mall joint serving mom & pop breakfast favorites to a full fledged all day restaurant with a unique ethnic concept menu, blending Romanian and
Mexican influences.
Our current hours are 8am-9pm, the breakfast shift is 7am-3pm. We prefer a full time breakfast
line cook, but will also consider part time hours. Our team is awesome and hard working and we
are looking for someone energetic, punctual, motivated and interested in learning new things.
We rely on each other to make the restaurant work, we are looking for that next reliable,
trustworthy team member who wants to fit in with our team and work ethic. We can’t take on any
cooks who don’t have a solid resume with at least 1-2 years per job, sorry. We check
references.
We love to refine our menu seasonally, our food is very much a reflection of our passion for
delicious dishes and great service, and we expect our cooks to improve their skills and
knowledge. We can train on new techniques and new cuisines, but you have to bring the desire
to learn, taste, season, and perfect your craft.
The work

looking for a good fit. Our team is small but reliable, and we need cooks who want a career in a
nice place working with other respectful and reliable staff.

Duties and Responsibilities
Learns our menu and cooks all dishes consistently and deliciously
Reviews all stocks and pars lists to make sure we are ready for successful service
Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods,
quality standards
Maintains a clean and sanitary work area at all times during shift
Follows beautiful plate presentation for in house dining as well as take away
Regularly rotates and stores all products properly, in clean areas
Coordinates prep and order lists with the team
Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist, assists others in closing
the kitchen
Attends all scheduled employee meetings
Performs other related duties as needed by the team
Qualifications
A minimum of 1-2 years in a breakfast line cooking position, especially cooking eggs
Able to communicate effectively with coworkers and management.
Demonstrate teamwork in all areas of the restaurant
Work with a positive attitude in all types of situations
Spanish language skills a big plus
Valid ServSafe Food Handler’s permit on file, or to be obtained within 21 days.
Follow safety and sanitation rules and laws at all times
Must be able to stand and work effectively during shift hours
Must be able to lift pots, pans, etc., up to 50 pounds in weight

Starting pay is $18-20/hour + shared tips $5-7/hour
