Old Gold is a chef-driven neighborhood restaurant in East Hollywood offering Sicilian-style pizza, seasonal vegetable-forward dishes, and a focused, hospitality-first experience. We are committed to quality, sustainability, and creating a team-oriented work environment. Position Summary

We are hiring a Sous Chef to support our back-of-house leadership team. This role combines hands-on kitchen responsibilities with operations support, including mentorship, prep systems, and quality control. This is a full-time, salaried exempt position, with a clear advancement track to Chef de Cuisine for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead line operations during prep and service

  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards

  • Train and support BOH team members in execution, efficiency, and station management

  • Collaborate with leadership on menu planning and inventory control

  • Uphold all relevant health code, food handling, and workplace safety practices

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a kitchen leadership role (Sous Chef, Line Lead, or equivalent)

  • Proficiency in vegetable preparation and working with seasonal produce

  • Experience with dough preparation, fermentation, or pizza highly preferred

  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced environment

Compensation & Benefits

Work Schedule
