Based on the shell composition, shock-mount style, and zinc-plated wire “RAR” rocker base, this piece was produced in the early 1960s, likely between 1960–1965, during the second generation of the Eames molded fiberglass line. This era is prized for its richer fiberglass texture and superior durability.
Light Ochre — a highly desirable and timeless original colorway that pairs beautifully with mid-century interiors. The shell retains its original luster and shine, which is becoming increasingly rare.
Condition
* Shell: Excellent vintage condition. No chips, no major scratches, and the fiberglass surface retains a clean, even gloss. The iconic woven glass strands are crisp and visible.
* Shock Mounts: secure, and fully intact.
* Base: Original Herman Miller zinc-plated wire RAR base with no rust, tight welds, and minimal patina.
* Runners: Maple runners in excellent condition (protected/wrapped in photos).
This piece has been well-cared-for and shows significantly less wear than typical examples from this era.
