🪚 Finish Carpentry Apprentice – Start Your Career with Craftsmanship
Wood Castle Construction, Inc.
Specializing in Finish Carpentry Since 1997
Looking to build a career with your hands—not behind a desk? At Wood Castle Construction, we’re looking for dependable, hard-working individuals who want to learn the skilled finish carpentry trade from the ground up.
We’ve been serving top builders and homeowners across Southern California for over 25 years. From day one, you’ll be part of a crew that values clean work, clear communication, and having each other’s back. No experience needed—we’ll teach you the skills. You bring the attitude.
Whether you're just graduating high school, looking for a new path, or curious about the trades, this is a chance to learn something real and be part of a team that takes pride in everything we build.
What You’ll Do:
- Work alongside experienced finish carpenters on active job sites
- Help with daily tasks like unloading tools, prepping materials, and keeping the site clean
- Assist in the installation of doors, hardware, trim, and shelving
- Learn how to measure, cut, drill, and fasten with accuracy and care
- Be on time and ready to work—showing up consistently helps you learn faster and earn more trust
- Follow directions, stay focused, and ask questions—every day is a chance to improve
- Understand this is a physically demanding job—you’ll be lifting, moving, and working on your feet throughout the day
- With the right attitude, you’ll gain real trade skills and have the chance to grow with the company as we expand
Why Choose Wood Castle Construction:
- For over 25 years, we’ve helped build homes—and helped people build careers
- You’ll work with experienced carpenters who are patient, respectful, and take the time to teach
- We don’t expect you to know everything—we just expect you to show up, stay curious, and put in the work
- Our crews are made up of good people who care about doing the job right and looking out for each other
- You won’t be stuck doing the same thing forever—the more you learn, the more we’ll teach
- Once you’ve built a strong foundation in carpentry, you’ll also have the chance to learn other parts of the trade—like window installation—if you’re ready to grow and take on more
What We’re Looking For:
- A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn—attitude matters more than experience
- Punctuality and dependability—being on time shows respect and helps you grow faster
- Ability to take direction and stay focused on the task at hand
- Physical ability to lift materials and stay active throughout the day
- A respectful attitude toward your crew, your leads, and the job site
- Reliable transportation to get to job sites across Southern California
- You’ll need your own basic hand tools—if you don’t have tools yet, we may start you in a Spreader role, where you’ll still be hands-on and begin learning the trade from the ground up
- No experience required—just bring a good mindset, and we’ll teach you the rest
Pay & Growth Potential:
- Starting pay is $20 per hour
- Raises are based on your effort, reliability, and progress on the job
- As you gain skills and experience, you’ll take on more responsibility—and see your pay grow with it
- Apprentices who stay committed can become full finish carpenters and potentially move into lead or foreman roles
- There’s also opportunity to grow into other areas of the company, like our window installation division, if you're interested in learning a second trade
What You’ll Gain:
- A real path to learn a valuable trade—no classroom required
- Support and mentorship from a crew that wants to see you succeed
- The chance to work on a variety of job sites and see your progress every day
- Opportunities to grow within the company as your skills improve
- A team that treats you with respect and appreciates hard work
- The pride of building things with your hands—and getting better every week
