Creative Handyman/Woman / Builder for Home Projects (Eagle Rock)

I’m moving into a new house soon and am looking for a dependable, hands-on person (or couple) to help with a variety of creative and practical home projects. These projects don’t have to be done all at once—only a few are priorities. You don’t have to know how to do everything; I’m fine with you learning along the way as long as the craftsmanship is good and the effort is earnest.

This role involves light to moderate physical work such as lifting, carrying, assembling, and building. Please be comfortable performing these tasks, as I’m not able to help with heavy lifting.

Example Projects Include:

• Build or install a wire cat house connected to the home and help me ward off coyotes (there are many in the area)
• Help organize and move boxes
• Painting and touch-ups
• Fix small things (minor plumbing, clogs, patch holes, tighten fixtures)
• Electrical basics (installing lighting, switches, or small fixtures safely)
• Flooring or wall repair (patching, leveling, tiling, or refinishing)
• Fix wooden patio or decking areas
• Patch missing rock or cement areas and make them look realistic
• Build or install shelves, barn doors, blinds, decorative window frames
• Paint square frames around windows and exterior trims
• Install TV wall mount, ceiling beams, and decorative moldings
• Assemble furniture and build a collapsible table
• Build custom outdoor shelves for the laundry area
• Build simple rustic furniture (benches, tables, etc.)
• Pressure-wash exterior areas
• Create smart, space-efficient storage solutions
• Install outdoor lights, awnings for outdoor areas and windows, and security cameras
• Occasionally go shopping with me at estate sales to find or pick up furniture and materials
• Brainstorm creative, aesthetic, and efficient space solutions

About You:

• Enthusiastic, trustworthy, and self-motivated
• Strong problem-solving skills and useful creativity — able to think about how spaces are actually used and improve the experience for the end user (I strongly value this above all)
• Willing to learn and perfect your craft (I’m happy to collaborate using ChatGPT or online tutorials)
• Creative and respectful — able to contribute ideas while respecting my final decisions
• Extreme attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
• Ideally has a truck and basic tools (I can supplement or purchase additional equipment if needed)
• Bonus points for each of these you’re skilled at: electrical, plumbing, flooring, wall repair, shelving, doors, building from scratch, or gardening
• Bonus: Licensed or professionally experienced with construction, electrical, or plumbing

About Me:

I’m a homeowner and a busy online business owner with many creative ideas but limited time and strength to execute them. I value craftsmanship, aesthetics, functionality, and thoughtful design. I don’t expect perfection from day one, but I do expect care, quality, and continuous improvement.

Compensation & Schedule:

• Pay is mostly per project, not hourly
• Rate depends on skill and experience — please include your minimum rates
• Flexible schedule, but daytime work is preferred (better lighting)
• This can become a long-term working relationship for ongoing maintenance and creative projects
• We can start with a paid trial day to gauge mutual fit
