I'm Lucas, a French native originally from Paris. I moved to LA a little more than 8 years ago to pursue music; I completed my Bachelor's degree at LACM (Los Angeles College of Music) in Drums, and recently my Masters in Fine Arts at CalArts.
I've always been a big fan of culture, and France was obviously one of the best places in the world to feed my passion. Before dedicating myself to music, I was studying literature and History in La Sorbonne.
When I first came to LA, I was amazed by the diversity of cultures and it stroke me how curious and open-minded people are. I learned so much from this place. I also noticed how people here can be interested in French culture, often related to elegancy; food, clothes, literature, wine... France is really far away but the culture can be found everywhere. That's why I think it's fair for me to share my knowledge and my culture with whomever is interested. I love language, and through teaching French I've gotten deeper into what makes us who we are.
I offer quality French classes, for all levels. I like to teach French through the prism of French culture itself (arts, history, popular culture...), so you would get the knowledge but also the context. I make a priority to teach the language through conversation, regardless of the level - no abstract old school boring teaching. Every grammar lesson -conjugation, pronouns, modes, passive voice, etc. - will be immediately put into context, or will come from the context! I will also, of course, help with reading and writing. I don't have any problem going over the hour if needed, and I love to offer some follow-up throughout the week (voice messages to practice, any questions you might have etc.)
