GDA Landscape is a well-established design-build firm with over 30 years in business. We are seeking a highly adaptable Assistant Landscape Designer to join our small team and work closely with our Principal.
This position blends design, client communication, project coordination, and operational support. While design is a core component, success in this role comes from organization, follow-through, and the ability to anticipate needs rather than wait for direction.
Duties:
• Assist in creating conceptual landscape designs using Structure Studios, and AutoCAD to develop detailed visualizations and design concept documents.
• Perform site analysis, using available tools including, meauring and photographs
• Prepare presentations and renderings with Adobe Creative Suite to communicate design ideas effectively to clients.
• Contribute to the development of landscape solutions incorporating horticultural principles, irrigation systems, and client friendly materials.
• Assist in project management tasks such as scheduling, budgeting estimates for landscaping projects, and tracking project milestones.
• Support landscape maintenance planning by preparing landscape specifications, and construction estimates for hardscape features like patios, pathways, and retaining walls.
• Answer phones, respond to emails, and manage day-to-day communications professionally
• Serve as a point of contact for clients, contractors, and vendors
• Support the Principal with scheduling, coordination, documentation, and follow-ups
Qualifications:
• 5 years of experience in this field preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential
• Experience with Structure Studios or other 3D rendering programs is a bonus.
• Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite for rendering and presentation purposes.
• Knowledge of landscaping techniques including hardscape construction, irrigation systems, site analysis, and responsible design practices.
• Experience with project management and construction estimating processes is a plus.
• Excellent drafting skills with attention to detail; ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications clearly.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members, clients, contractors, and vendors.
