Multiple positions available; 1st and 2nd shifts.
The successful candidate will be responsible for: Performing duties such as, processing incoming and outgoing shipments of raw stock, parts, materials, and mail. In addition, assembles, repairs, identifies and test subassemblies and complete assemblies.
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
•Receives, stores, handles, locates, issues, delivers, weighs, measures, counts, identifies, marks and records all types of rough, semi-finished and finished parts, assemblies, materials, supplies, bar stock and castings, per drawings, routers, purchase orders and computer printouts utilizing a computerized system.
•Loads and unloads trucks, storage racks, stacks and stores the parts or material in designated areas, using forklifts, and trucks, cranes and other auxiliary equipment. Pull orders per router and drawing instructions and ensures completeness on orders and quantities in inventory. Takes physical inventory, including raw material, assemblies and location audits, as required.
•Receives all incoming materials, verifies with purchase order or packing list, checks sizes, weighs, counts and inspects for defects and damage, reports discrepancies, distributes to proper locations within plant.
•Utilizes total quality concept and procedures (i.e. SPC Charting) by using appropriate measuring and inspection instruments to ensure parts are within required tolerance.
•Operates packaging and boxing equipment to wrap, preserve and pack parts in boxes, cartons or crates following prescribed specifications, fashion and assemble suitable skids, boxes or crates as required, checks parts to be shipped against shipping and packaging slip, reports shortages, marks shipments, make labels, tags and shipping memos. Serves as backup to the Shipping/Receiving Clerk.
•Processes outgoing mail including adding proper postage. Handles UPS, parcel post, truck and air shipments.
•Moves parts and material within and between departments and storage facilities. Maintains related records and files. Process credit slips for returns. Keeps work area clean and orderly.
•Reads work orders, routers, drawing instructions to assemble detailed mechanical parts into subassemblies or completed units to ensure their completeness. Parts to be assembled and disassembled include, housings, nuts, bolts, springs, lock washers, lock pins, diaphragms, latches, cotter pins, swagings and other miscellaneous parts. Assembly operations include, installing screwing, gluing, lubricating, pressing, forming, riveting and other miscellaneous functions.
•Operate various assembly equipment such as, rivet, basic forming, stamping and press equipment as required. Uses miscellaneous hand and power tools and measuring instruments to discover and repair equipment and assemblies.
•Keeps daily production performance records including set-up time, run-time and quantity.
•Sets up test benches to perform functional and pressure testing including selecting and installing gauges and adapters using small hand tools or selecting measuring devices. Tests completed assemblies on hydraulic/pneumatic/non-destructive and other testing equipment.
•Performs all tasks in a timely, safe and accurate manner to avoid delays in operations.
•Immediately reports to management when not making job standards.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. 2-4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills -- ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills -- ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration and percentages variables in standardized situations. Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability -- ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or scheduled form.
While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision ability includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
