Les Paul style Luthier Build Custom 5 string guitar circa 1970’s Bill Lawrence Single PU Exotic RARE
This is a luthier built boutique guitar in the 1970’s, most likely a one-off. This is a very unique 5-string guitar built in the Keith Richards style of play with high quality parts and woods. The single pickup is a 1970’s Bill Lawrence rail Humbucker (L90-I believe). This pickup is known for its clarity and hi quality natural output, Bill was already working with Gibson at this time. She is fairly light weight and much thinner than a les paul. This lady just oozes coolness and soul. The previous owner told me it was made in the South Bay of southern California. The South Bay area was a vibrant music hub during the 1970s. Various local shops and individuals contributed to the guitar community during this time. Individuals like Robert "Beatle Bob" Wagstaff were present and active in the area during this wondrous time. Most of you know of the famous people and products that were born in this community during this era. I don’t know exactly who the builder was but it is obviously well done in the custom shop form of today. It comes with a sticker laden well used but functional hard shell case from the same era.
This IS available if this listing is still online. I am in the Culver City area.
