As much as I absolutely adore this thing, I must set it free to help cover the cost of a new car. This is one of my prized SoCal gear finds- a seemingly 1 of 1 1997 American Fender Hardtail Stratocaster in STUNNING Candy Apple Green (or 7 Up Green) with matching headstock. I have not been able to find another one of these and Fender said the S/N doesn’t show up in their log (common for FSR, one offs, Custom shops of the era). This color was only used on the Clapton Signature Strat of this era and was never used on the American Standard line. Prototype for a dealer special run? Employee guitar? Artist guitar? Who knows!!

This guitar looks to be completely stock, plays very nicely, is very lightweight (around 7 lbs) and is remarkably cool. Definitely the prettiest and rarest Strat I’ve ever had. All the standard mid-90s features including alder body, maple neck with nice rosewood board, 9.5” radius and medium jumbo frets. The guitar does have some wear on the back, but the front of the guitar, neck and frets are in great shape (plastic still on the guard!). It will come with a brand new Fender TSA hardshell case and it plays great!
