In excellent condition. Never had a single issue, runs like magic.

These machines are known for studio quality comparable to that of high end machines -- the 'BMW' to Studer's 'Mercedes,' if you will -- in the New York studio circuit during the '80s thru the 90s/early 2000s when these machines were at their peak of popularity (both before and after everyone realized that DAT's sucked the shit out of a rotting ass). You either had a Studer or an Otari. Nirvana recorded " Bleach " w/ one of these things and a bunch of sm57s and that's it. Imagine what you could do with some good microphones. I believe neutral milk hotel also has a few titles owed to this machine as well as the outer circle/ adjacent artists and labelmates E.G. the apples in stereo etc.

In terms of quality, these machines are comparable to some of the higher end decks out there, but infamous for their durability and longevity. Ask anyone who's been on gear space for more than 5 minutes and they'll call it home "a workhorse." They're not wrong, it's a safe bet that these are the most reliable machines of their kind, lasting for years and years without any problems, even compared to their studer counterparts. There's a reason serviceable parts and authorized techs are both widely available for these units to this day. All that prestige in a package that is affordable to the "prosumer" or home studio engineer/ audiophile -- or even the consumer who is dabbling in analog recording, making the startling realization after a sufficient amount of time lurking on Homerecording/Gearslutz that most of the Tascams and TEAC's selling quicker and at a higher rate on reverb are doing so mostly because of a name people recognize. And some of them even look awfully cool, but don't let those BX 2-tracks fool you with that cool design-- You will be buying a fucking disaster and a money-sucking blackhole that you will either resell for parts or spend more on repairs than you'd be spending right here, right now. Shit, come and pick up the 2-track ReVox(studer) b77 too and you've got the best of both of worlds, Otari for 8-track fully analog tape recording and the Studer for stereo 2-track master bounce. Pair it with your favorite analog mixer, or bundle this with your favorite outboard gear -- like a 33609, API 2500, Overstayer Stereo FET, or Yamaha PM1000 rack -- all of which you can find in my store. Now just run it through your Scarlett 2i2 with the gain cranked all the way w/ Sausage Fattener on the FL Studio master channel (set to 100%) and you are ready to play with the big dogs.

Willing to deliver within 5 miles of the Hollywood area, but will need at least a day to prepare (Have one of my roommates help me lift the fucking fucking behemoth into my car). If you ask me to deliver it, you will be paying up front and I will wrap it in two down comforters and bungee chord it down in the back seat, but any dings, chips, damages, mishaps etc. will be your responsibility and I will not be held accountable for. If someone T-Bones me, and if their car hits this machine, killing everyone inside, you will have to cover the scratches, or 1-2 possible broken VU meters (unlikely).
