Oak House Recording is a cozy studio hideaway up in the Pasadena foothills.
From a great selection of the very best in vintage audio equipment, to our house concert series, "Song Sessions," it's more of a family over here than a factory.
For over 20 years I've been running a studio, working closely with amazing independent artists making compelling, unique, and authentic records. I was originally mentored by producer, David Fridmann (best known for recording the Flaming Lips, MGMT, and Tame Impala.) While those influences are still a big part of my work, I also love raw acoustic records, eclectic genre-blending projects, as well as orchestral recording. I'm also a songwriter and performer myself who knows what it's like trying to make a serious recording on a limited budget.
While many projects here are started from scratch, I'd say half of my time is spent mixing outside projects, whether recorded in other studios or with people's personal recording setups from home. Other people just come in to get great vocals or to use the beautiful drum room here.
I invite you to check out audio samples, photos, and the equipment list over at oakhouserecording.com. Yelp reviews are also starting to pop up. You can find the studio on Facebook and Instagram as well.
