I found Anise wandering the hallway of my apartment building — terrified, hungry, a little skinny, and clearly not a feral street cat. She’s a small adult who’s been decompressing indoors for about a week.
At first, Anise was very defensive, swatting at my hands and feet with claws out when I got close. She was in panic mode. It's clear that her last owner was negligent and mishandled her, and possibly abandoned her during move-out.
But now, just a week later, she plays and flops down around me. Still defensive, but not in panic mode anymore. Today, she sniffed my fingers three times without swiping, and has been chattering a lot more. Hours later, she started letting me pet her. She's adjusting fast.
You can tell she wants to trust, she’s just figuring out how. She’ll hiss, growl, and swipe if you get too close too soon. But she’s curious, clean, and smart.
She hasn’t been to the vet yet because she’s still too scared to handle at the moment. So she’ll need someone patient. After that, I think she’ll blossom into one of those loyal, spicy little shadow cats who bond deeply once they decide you’re safe.
I can't foster her long term right now for a variety of reasons, including my plans to travel multiple times during November–unfeasible for a cat that needs consistency more than ever.
So I’m looking for a foster/new owner who:
* has experience with shy or undersocialized cats,
* can provide a quiet, dog-free home (at least at first),
* understands trust can take weeks or months, and
* is committed to keeping her indoor-only and safe.
Because Anise deserves a truly safe, stable home, I’ll be asking for a few basic things before finalizing adoption (through DMs):
* Photo ID (for verification — no copies kept)
* Vet reference to confirm current or recent pet care and vaccinations
* Willingness to stay in touch for a brief update after the first few weeks.
📍Located in Koreatown.

If you’re interested, please tell me a bit about your home setup and experience with cats like her.
If you agree to rehome her, I'll send her to her new home with kibble, a dozen cans of cat food, and some toys from my home she's grown to like.
