Selling a rare vintage Birns & Sawyer Omnitar 500mm f/5 telephoto lens w/ Arri-S Mount. This thing is a beast—originally made back in the 60s and rumored to have been used in aerospace and military tracking applications. It's got that cool Cold War-era industrial feel and some serious collector appeal. I'm including pictures I took with my GH6 and an adapter.
The second-to-last photo was taken at around 50mm, with a circle marking the area shown in the final image, which I shot with the 500mm lens on my GH6 from the same spot.
Condition:
I'd say fair overall
Some cosmetic wear on the barrel
Focus is mostly smooth but could use a tune-up
Glass is clear—no haze or fungus
It works great as-is, but would really shine with some professional maintenance
These don’t pop up often, especially in usable condition. Great for collectors, vintage cine builds, or anyone into rare optics with a story.
