Experienced Paralegal looking for part-time work with Attorneys ONLY (Los Angeles)

education completed: bachelors
license info: Licensed attorney in California currently unable to practice
It’s important for anyone interested in this post to be aware that I am a license attorney in the State of California who currently cannot practice law. My license was suspended (the suspension is over) but I have not applied for re-instatement due to family medical concerns. The re-instatement process and the practice of law are secondary in my life right now.

I am determined, however, to eventually complete the process to have my license reinstated, therefore, any paralegal work I do MUST be for an attorney and MUST comply with California Rules of Professional Conduct Rule 1-311 (Employment of Involuntarily Inactive Member). Do not contact me if you are not an attorney; I will not help non-attorneys with their legal problems and will simply delete the email.

I have income outside the legal profession so I am not looking for full-time employment; I am looking for part-time or project work that I can do from home.

I was a civil litigation attorney for 13 years and also did some estate planning, so I am experienced in the following:

• Drafting complaints, pleadings, discovery, minor's compromise petitions, arbitration/mediation briefs and trial preparation.
• Drafting living trusts, wills, powers of attorney (both financial estate and medical), conservatorships and probate documents.
• Well-versed in State/Local court rules and filing/E-filing procedures as well as Microsoft Office, Word Perfect and Word.

I have my own Lexis account; therefore, I am able to shepardize and conduct research. The Lexis account is geared towards Civil Litigation and Estate Planning.

I have a gift for organizing/managing projects and have excellent oral and written communication skills along with the ability to communicate effectively and work with minimal supervision.

I am completely transparent when it comes to my situation with the State Bar, as well as the family medical concerns I am dealing with at this time, so feel free to ask me anything you wish as it pertains to those subjects. I am also willing to provide my Bar number so you may review the information regarding my suspension on the California State Bar website.

I have several references that I can provide regarding the quality of my work and my overall competence as a paralegal.

If you are an attorney who needs part-time paralegal help, please feel free to contact me.
  • Principals only. Recruiters, please don't contact this poster.
