STAR Theatre is seeking passionate, dedicated, above-and-beyond theatre teachers to teach one or more weekly after school theatre programs at several elementary schools in Los Angeles!
STAR Education is a 501 [c] non profit education organization that proudly serves over 40 schools throughout Los Angeles. The Theatre Department's classes, programs, and performances continue to be among the company's greatest boasts.
We're about to start a brand new school year and we need exceptional theatre teachers to teach after school classes at various elementary schools. This involves casting a pre-written show, rehearsing your show over the course of 16 weeks, and presenting a final performance for parents and friends at the end of each school semester. We also have a much-loved "PopSTAR" class (all singing, and dancing, all pop songs) and various other theatre classes.
This is strictly a PART-TIME position.
We are looking for dynamic, resilient self-starters who are willing and able to hold their own while taking control of a group of kids, put together impressive, polished final performances, and make the whole thing FUN while they do it!
Must have theatre experience (either academically or professionally) as well as experience working with children. Ability to sing and/or dance is a plus, but not necessarily required.
Compensation is $30 per hour
Schedule is adjustable, can be anywhere from 3-12 hours per week.
