Synopsis: Thomas was a 20 year old Dallas police officer who witnessed the assassination of JFK. More than 5 decades later, he is ready to tell his story — his secret — to the world. He contacts the Washington Post and offers an interview. The Post arranges for Samantha to travel to Western NY to vet Thomas’ story. What happens next is what neither of them expected — or hoped for.
Character: THOMAS DRIVER is in his 50s/60s/70s (can adapt the script) living in Western NY. He’s a man with varying interests and life experiences. Police officer, Vietnam Vet, photographer, a reader/thinker. He likes Texas rye and dirty jokes — but can quote from the Bible. And he’s been carrying a secret for decades. He claims to have first-hand knowledge surrounding a conspiracy in the President Kennedy assassination. He wants to unburden himself of the secret, so contacts the Washington Post to set up an interview in his home.
Character: SAMANTHA “SAM” WINSLOW is a reporter with the Washington Post. In her 30s/40s, she’s attractive and personally charming — but professionally single-minded. She’s been tasked with vetting Thomas’ story, and she’s vocal to him in her doubt surrounding conspiracies.
Paid gig up to $500 plus travel.
