Are you an eager and dedicated journalism student who's passionate about news? Do you know how to write interesting, engaging articles under tight deadlines -- without sacrificing accuracy? Can you make a strong argument, even if it conflicts with your personal opinion on a topic?
If so, this internship is for you!
As a journalism intern focused on opinion-editorial pieces for Render Media, you will research and write articles for OpposingViews.com, the company's flagship news site boasting 20 million unique monthly visitors and 4 million Facebook fans.
We're looking for interns to cover op-eds on politics, religion and society stories.
This paid internship will last approximately three months. Students can earn college credit, and there is an opportunity for advancement to freelance upon completion of the internship.
Duties include but are not limited to:
-Write strong, original copy
-Craft punchy headlines
-Adhere to Render and AP style guidelines
-Currently enrolled in college (strongly preferred)
-Successful completion of at least one journalism course
-Knowledge of AP style
-Outstanding research skills
-Exceptional writing skills and strong journalistic integrity
-Excellent organizational and time-management skills
-Independent, dependable, efficient, flexible and friendly
-15 hours per week, preferably the same three-hour time block Monday through Friday
-Fast-paced startup environment, where everyone's contribution is recognized
-Great experience with proven, successful entrepreneurs
-Supportive, understanding editorial staff
-Regular feedback on your work
-Learn about various media-related topics via our intern training program, Render Media University
-Opportunity to join the editorial team as a freelance writer upon successful completion of the internship
