The Gitane Tour de France is one of the true sleepers of the vintage bike world. Probably because not very many survived in appealing condition. They were designed to be used as a racing bike by those who didn't have the money for a Colnago or a Masi.
And the bike was very well suited to the task. Whoever designed this frame knew what they were doing. It rides REALLY nicely.
This one is ready to ride. Just glue on tires, adjust to taste, and go. Original paint, original graphics in remarkable condition. The parts group is period-correct in virtually every detail. I'll note that the MAFAC brakes have newish pads and are perfectly adjusted. They work great.
