Specialized is an American cycling icon, making bikes that fit every riding discipline from mountain to road for every level of rider from weekend warrior to Tour de France champion. The Sirrus lineup of bikes was conceived as a comfort-oriented park cruiser or city commuter. However, as its fanbase grew, Specialized decided to add more performance and excellence to a type of bike that typically resided in the lower echelons of most manufacturer's totem poles. Thus, they created a Sirrus frameset out of Specialized's Fact 9R carbon fiber, the same matrix for the Tarmac Sport allowing it to retain its comfortable geometry while making it lighter, stiffer, more shock-absorbant and more responsive. But while the flat bar setup meant that the performance aspects of the bike were at its peak, this truly unique and performance-oriented gravel conversion takes everything to the next level.
Here is a fully custom and highly innovative one-of-a kind gravel build that starts around a Specialized Sirrus Expert Carbon bike. The Microshift (cheaper alternative to Shimano) flat bar shifters and front derailleur and Shimano 105 rear derailleur with Praxis crankset were upgraded to a full Campagnolo Ekar 1x13 speed hydraulic disc Gravel groupset. This is tauted as the lightest gravel groupset on the market. Then, the generic stock wheels were upgraded to the Italian Fulcrum Rapid Red 3 gravel disc wheelset wrapped in 40mm wide WTB gravel tires and locked in with thru-axles. The original fat saddle was replaced with an Italian Fi'zi:k Aliante saddle for a much livelier feel and the soul of the bike was transformed with the 3T Aeroghiaia LTD carbon handlebars which finally completed the bike's new athletic and adventure-seeking essense.
It is a size L by Specialized (similar to 58mm) so I'd expect a rider of around 5'9" to 6'3" to fit this bike depending on personal preference, body proportions and configuration of parts. This is a one-of-kind custom endurance gravel explorer that keeps you smooth and fresh over offroad conditions for a long time and confidently in control at all times. Hills are effortless on the Ekar's 38Tx9/42T 1x drivetrain with massive range suitable for sprints to climbing. Shifts through the full range of gears and wheels roll smooth and true. Beautiful color and everything works like it was just serviced. Ready to ride!
MSRP for the stock bike was $2,100 plus tax before the upgrades (see link and pics). The MSRP of the Campagnolo Ekar groupset is $1,895. The Fulcrum Rapid Red 3 Disc wheelset with Campagnolo's N3W freehub has an MSRP of 774 Euro which is just over $800. The 3T Aeroghiaia LTD carbon bars were $375 for a combined total value of $5,170 plus tax, which is $5,584! (The value of the much cheaper parts that came off the bike should be subtracted but Microshift parts and basic TRP brakes are worth almost nothing with the main cost coming from the $180 Praxis Alba crankset and $50 Shimano 105 rear derailleur.) I'm pricing this bike at just $2,000.

Campagnolo Ekar Groupset Review (4.5 stars):
https://www.cyclingweekly.com/reviews/campagnolo-ekar-1x13-groupset-review
"As a performance gravel groupset, Campagnolo’s Ekar really excels. It provides the shifting simplicity of 1x – but without the sacrifices to either range or jump between the gears. The braking performance really is excellent too. For fast gravel blasts and bikepacking races, it is a compelling proposition."
Fulcrum Rapid Red 3 Review:

"The Fulcrum Rapid Red 3 gravel wheels feature an aluminium rim built to a gravel-friendly width, employ spoke tech from Fulcrum's E-bike range, and are built with the brand's Two-to-One build pattern onto its proven adjustable bearing hubs. Together, that creates a smooth, durable and almost silent wheelset for all road and gravel riders."
