My buddy sold his boat and I bought a bunch of gear from him. One of the items is this EPIRB. I had plans to do some extensive coastal cruising, but plans change. I don't need this for the day sailing I do. So if you can use this; have at it.
Just know it needs a battery and needs to be re-registered with your boat details, of course. I say it needs a battery, but amazingly the test function is working properly. And the good news is: you can change the battery yourself for under $100. So you can buy this set up for under $300 or get one new for $700.
I checked and this is for sale for less than what I've found listed on eBay. I will accept offers but won't respond to anything under $150.
