Selling my VW e-Golf hatchback before I move to Japan.
For sale by owner: low-mileage (68k) 2016 all electric e-Golf. I bought this certified pre-owned from a local licensed VW dealership in 2019.
Everything is in perfect working order and I (still) really love it. If it made sense to keep it, I would, but Japan calls...
It has never been in any accident. It has a couple knicks here and there, picked up from parking lots, and a couple coffee stains (pictured) on the cloth seating, which I will try to get out before selling. These are super minor cosmetic details, but I want to be upfront.
First time switching to all-electric?
Say goodbye to caring about gas prices (no more smog checks or oil changes, too)!
It comes with a "trickle charger" so you can plug it in to a normal three-prong outlet to charge over night or at work. This is the best way to maintain battery longevity and maybe adds $1, if that, to your electric bill for a full charge.
Charging at stations takes between 35 minutes and 3 hours to go from empty to a full charge - depending on the voltage of the charger, but the fastest DC chargers will give it an 80% charge in 15 minutes if you're in a hurry or on a road trip. These can cost between $5-$10 depending on the charging company. Slower charges cost between $3-$6
This is an older model EV so it will say 108 miles range when you fully charge it, but the real range is about 60 miles on the highway or running the AC. But with just the fan on and in eco mode, you can go about 80 miles, (less than once a week) if you're just using it in-city for errands or a short commute.
Oh, and heated front seats! On winter nights or driving home from a sunset at the beach: priceless!
