very sturdy commercial grade hooks, can take a lot of weight. They are assembled but ea. is actually a set of 2 components. One is a flat bar that you screw into the wall. The second component just slips into it and is held only by gravity. So you can remove the hooks and it leaves only the flat bars. Nor certain but i think these used in dry cleaning stores possibly.
