Senior Human Resource Generalist (Anaheim)

compensation: DOE

Develops and administers various human resources plan and procedures for all company personnel.

Implements and annually updates the compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys and develops salary budget; analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary. Addresses and responds to requests for salary reviews when requested by employees.

Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program and cash flow.

Conducts recruitment effort for all workers; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-path program and employee relations counseling; conducts exit interviews.
Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.

Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.
Administers health and benefit plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains files.
Maintains department records and reports.
Maintains company directory and other organizational charts.

Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.

Coaches supervisors and managers on proper guidelines for taking disciplinary action. HR Generalist II is present in disciplinary meetings with supervisors and managers and employee.

Ensures human resources strategies align with organizational business goals.

Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier. Coordinates Safety Committee meetings and acts as Safety Director. Handles and follows-up on Workers Compensation cases, FMLA, and other medical leaves of absence.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Program planning and implementation skills.
Ability to use independent judgment to manage and impart confidential information.
Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands:

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
Work Environment:

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This job operates in a health care setting. This role requires regular walking, sitting, standing, and bending.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel can occasionally be expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience:

A bachelor's degree and five years of human resource management experience, or nine years of experience in the HR field.
Preferred Education and Experience:

SHRM Certified Professional preferred
Master’s degree preferred
Experience in multi-site healthcare practice
Experience with interacting with physicians
