Did you graduate from a charter school, or otherwise passionate about mission-driven education? The Intellectual Virtues Academy (“the Academy”) is looking for Student Recruiter to join our Community Outreach Team!

As a Student Recruiter, you must be organized, energetic, collaborative, and passionate. You are a goal-oriented, team player who is continually thinking creatively about recruiting new students to enroll. You are ready to canvas neighborhoods, attend community events, and build community partnerships, sharing the school’s mission and model with potential students and families.

This is an excellent entry level opportunity for the right person to gain experience in marketing, public relations, and assisting in the growth of a school.

Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):
-Recruit new students for enrollment in high school
-Identify community events and find opportunities to promote our school and raise awareness about our program
-Represent the Academy in the community (e.g., Door to Door, Tabling at Events, middle school dismissals)
-Organize a list of prospective students and families
-Schedule follow-up connection and appointments to meet with families at the school
-Assist with marketing strategy, including with respect to branding, website, rapid response, and digital and social media

-Bilingual in Spanish and English, highly desirable
-Authentic relationship-builder
-Strong interpersonal skills: storytelling, engaging, and articulate
-Experience in charter schools or student recruitment, desirable
-A commitment to, and enthusiasm for, the Academy’s mission, vision, and educational model
-Must have reliable transportation and the ability to work weekends as necessary

Hours: Part-time (10-20 hours a week) with the ability to work weekends, as necessary

Salary: $15/hour base with incentives, which has averaged about $27.5/hour total with past employees

Work Environment
This position works in a variety of settings including office, classrooms, and outdoors and may experience heat or cold extremes as well as fumes, odors, dust, noise level is moderate to loud.

Physical Demands
In the office, the assistant will frequently hold/display light objects they are working with and demonstrating. These must be displayed in a manner which enables viewers to see the objects. The assistant must be able to move through assemblies and be able to maneuver in tight spaces between seats. Must be able to use the whiteboard and projectors.

The assistant uses computers and projectors. The overhead projector requires 5 pounds of force to move. The assistant must be able to develop presentations, move around outside (which involves navigating curbs, uneven surfaces), and input student information.
