Details: The original owner had a bad frontal crash in 2006 at about 1,710 miles. I bought the bike from a salvage dealer, replaced the damaged parts, and had the cracked frame rewelded. Repairs used salvage parts, mainly from eBay. Plastic body parts were painted a rattle can silver/gray, not the 2005 factory red. The front wheel is black, the rear wheel is silver. The bike has been garage stored in SoCal. No ECM codes. Two sets of keys, and panniers are separately keyed. California plates are valid thru April of 2026.
Tires are 2005-6 vintage, with no checking or UV degradation visible. I would replace them if I was going to keep the bike. While parked, it is always on a battery tender. The fuel pump, fuel filter, and battery were replaced in 2019. There are 2 holes in the instrument panel where I installed, then removed, aftermarket electrical switches. The fluids need to be changed. It has a fresh tank of gas as of this week. Starts normally, rides normally. The bike is 20 years old so it has scratches and dings, and expect the plastic fasteners to be getting brittle.
I am selling it because when I rebuilt it, I intending to get into touring. Then work and other responsibilities got in the way, so my touring plans never happened. By the time I retired my ability and desire had left, and so now it just sits. It is time for the bike to go to someone who will ride and enjoy it.
