CNC Skilled Machinist
Day Shift 5:00a.m. - 1:30p.m
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain CNC machine tools to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with CNC mills and/or lathes, strong blueprint-reading skills, and the ability to produce high-quality parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, and related machining equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
Select and install tooling, fixtures, and workholding devices.
Load, edit, and verify CNC programs as required.
Perform machine offsets, tool changes, and routine adjustments to maintain part quality.
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and thread gauges.
Maintain dimensional accuracy and compliance with customer specifications.
Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues to minimize downtime and scrap.
Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
Document production data and inspection results as required.
Follow all company safety and quality procedures.
Qualifications
3+ years of CNC machining experience preferred.
Experience operating and setting up CNC lathes and/or mills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
Knowledge of machining practices, tooling, speeds, and feeds.
Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical machining training is a plus.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, or similar CNC controls.
Ability to edit CNC programs at the machine.
Experience machining a variety of materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, and plastics.
Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment and hand tools.
Success in this role requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to consistently produce precision-machined components in a safe and efficient manner.
