This ultra-rare Steinway & Sons Model M Teague Centennial Sketch 1111 grand piano represents an evocative tribute to both mid-century design and Steinway’s lasting legacy. Originally designed in 1953 by legendary industrial designer Walter Dorwin Teague to commemorate Steinway’s 100th anniversary. this special edition piano blends mid-century modern elegance with Steinway’s iconic craftsmanship. It features clean architectural lines, tapered legs, and subtle brass accents that reflect Teague’s signature aesthetic.
Measuring 5’7”, the Model M delivers the rich tonal depth of a grand piano in a compact, studio- and residence-friendly footprint—ideal for refined interiors and intimate performance spaces.
Unique in many aspects, this particular instrument has been expertly remanufactured by a true Steinway restoration artisan, using 100% genuine Steinway parts - including new pinblock, strings, and action components - while preserving its original cabinet style and valuable genuine Steinway soundboard—the heart of a piano’s voice.
The hand-rubbed, satin ebony finish comes from the nationally recognized STORER Refinishing facility and beautifully showcases the piano’s sculptural elegance. The accent-setting brass hardware has been polished to a warm, understated luster.
