This is a 2001 Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute, one of the most revered pro-level kits Yamaha ever made. Built in Japan with top-tier craftsmanship, this kit features all-maple shells for warm, full-bodied tone and incredible dynamic range. If you know, you know—this is not your average maple kit.

This kit was Yamaha’s flagship at the time and competes easily with modern high-end kits like Gretsch USA Custom, DW Collector’s, or Tama Starclassic Maple. I would even dare say this kit is better than those $4-5k kits because they a) they don’t make them like this anymore and b) the Maple’s tone is mature
