Local accounting firm in Encino needs help in the Payroll group . We want someone who is a self-starter able to complete assignments with little supervision; and - Professional, friendly.
Position requires: Excellent written and verbal skills, Ability to pay attention to detail, Excellent organizational and multitasking skills - Proficiency in Excel; WordPerfect, Word, and Outlook.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Preparing payrolls by verifying time records and calculating wages, overtime, deductions, and processing manual checks and adjustments as needed. Assisting clients with electronic timekeeping. Maintaining wage information and conducting audit controls to verify payroll accuracy and to ensure the integrity of the payroll process. Maintaining payroll/human resources records and personnel files (new-hires, terminations, pay rate changes, etc.), including records retention and archiving.Tracking vacation, sick, PTO and generating related reports. Responding to unemployment claims and audits.Responding to worker's compensation audits. Processing and responding to garnishments/wage withholding orders. Assisting with quarter-end and year-end reporting including W-2 distribution.
Knowledge of accounting is a plus.
