This 1930s-40s built -in shoe shine box was installed in a friend's home when built in 1941. The Pryne company that manufactured it apparently closed in the 50s due labor unionization efforts.
The shoe shine fixture is not findable(is that a word?) on the www, so it must really be rare. www.
Pretty neat reminder of how things were 80-90 years ago.
