Fastens/clamps to the edge of a table. The beak spring holds the fabric to be sewn. Patent date Feb.15 1853 is shown on the edge of the wings. As you can see ornate patterns are cast into the bird, clamp, and handle
Measures 3&5/8 from beak to tail. 4&7/8 Tall Wing span is 2".
Don't confuse this with a reproduction. This is a true antique.
