This was purchased from a reputable dealer in Bangkok in the 1990s right when the bhat collapsed. It's rare that any of the four arms or faces of Avilokiteshvara are visible.

Hard stone related to sand-stone, but gray (sorry I cannot recall the name) as are many Khmer-culture sculptures.
