Beautiful Mid-Century Asian-inspired man and woman ceramic figures, postwar era (late 1940s).

Handmade, likely California, marked “Altone”, signed “Nadine” and dated ’48/’49.

These types of statues were stylish to own in the ‘50s, as they were popularized by similar statues seen on the television show I Love Lucy. These predate I Love Lucy, which first aired in October of 1951.

See markings at the bottom of each figure. In great condition. The larger of the two is almost 18” tall.
