We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Remote Health Administrative Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting the daily administrative operations of our health services while working remotely. This position involves managing schedules, processing documents, coordinating patient care, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support: Manage and organize daily tasks including appointment scheduling, patient intake, and follow-up reminders for health professionals.
Document Management: Prepare, organize, and maintain medical records, patient files, and other important health-related documentation, ensuring compliance with privacy and HIPAA regulations.
Communication: Answer and respond to phone calls, emails, and other forms of communication in a timely manner. Communicate with patients, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth coordination.
Data Entry & Management: Input patient data into health management systems accurately and ensure all records are up-to-date.
Billing and Insurance Coordination: Assist with medical billing, insurance claims, and verification processes. Ensure accurate coding for insurance reimbursement.
Patient Care Coordination: Help facilitate appointments, referrals, and follow-up care for patients. Provide reminders for patient appointments or medical tests.
Report Generation: Assist with generating and analyzing reports related to patient care, office performance, or other administrative metrics.
Other Administrative Tasks: Perform other clerical duties as assigned, including maintaining office supplies, organizing meetings, and coordinating team schedules.
Qualifications:
Experience: 1years of administrative support experience in a healthcare setting preferred, but not required.
Skills:
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace) and medical software/systems (EMR/EHR systems preferred)
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA compliance is a plus
Education: High school diploma required; associate degree or relevant certifications in health administration or medical office management is a plus.
Tech Savvy: Comfortable with remote work tools (e.g., Zoom, Slack, project management platforms) and online communication.
Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently and stay productive with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification as a Medical Administrative Assistant or similar qualification.
Experience with medical billing and coding.
