For Sale: 1999 BMW E36 M3 Convertible – Clean California Car, Documented History
Up for sale is my 1999 BMW E36 M3, a beautifully maintained and well-documented California car. I am the third owner. The first two owners were a father-and-son pair who later sold the car on Bring a Trailer, where the second owner purchased it. I acquired the car in October 2022 through Bring a Trailer as well.
I’ve owned seven BMW M cars, so I’m very familiar with proper maintenance and care for these vehicles. All service and maintenance performed during my ownership has been documented, and I have receipts for everything. The car has a clean title, zero paintwork, and has always been kept in excellent condition. It has primarily been used as a summer weekend car.
Only selling because putting a car seat in the back has become impractical.
Condition Notes:
Convertible top functions normally, though the tonneau cover intermittently doesn’t open automatically. When that happens, I simply open it manually—never bothered me.
The airbag light is currently on. The car sat in my garage for a while and the battery died; after replacing the battery, the light stayed on. I haven’t had a chance to reset it, but there were no airbag issues prior to the battery dying.
The car is exceptionally clean inside and out. Car is supplied with two original keys as well as the complete set of manufacturer manuals.
No stories, no shortcuts—just a well-cared-for M3 that deserves an owner who will appreciate it.
Serious inquiries only, please. Come see it and take a test drive—no low-ball offers. These days, finding clean E36 M3s is becoming rare, and I’d like this car to go to someone who will care for it as I have.
If you have any questions or would like to schedule a time to see the car, my name is David feel free to call me at show contact info
