Dog-sitting is the easiest and most uplifting gig on the planet -- 10% is walking/feeding/playing and 90% is hanging out on the couch with a dog staring lovingly at you. This is a freelance INDEPENDENT CONTRACTING job - it's best for writers, editors, or other WFH people who can live their life and work on projects from anywhere. Sitters are paid per job via venmo or zelle.
Overnight dog-sitting jobs can range from 1 or 2 nights to 2 weeks depending on the dog-owner's travel and can often feel like a retreat - summer sits by the pool are bliss! Potential Sitters MUST have their own vehicle, must be able to move into someone else's home for days or weeks at a time, and be able to stay with their dog for bulk of the day. Most dogs on our client list can only be left for 3-4 hours, a few can only be left for an hour at a time, so anyone who has a steady in-person job will not comport with our needs.
Keep in mind, while it may sound like a no-brainer, you are RESPONSIBLE FOR A LIFE and every dog is different. Clients put their trust in you to care for their beloved pets AND their home. We are constantly overbooked and in need of additional competent sitters.
This is neither a full-time or part-time commitment, but a continuous floating freelance gig. Average monthly income provided is based on your availability and incoming opportunities; busy sitters make an average of $2,000/month. Sitters in our network are offered dog or cat sits as they arise and have the opportunity to accept if available and interested, or decline if not.
We are ONLY seeking Mature, Responsible, Dog and Cat Lovers; THIS IS NOT a job for young people just looking for a house to party at. Other people are NOT allowed on overnight sits (it should be obvious that it's never okay to bring strangers into someone else's home), so if you are unable to be away from your family or significant other overnight for days or weeks at a time, then this is not for you.
You will be asked to provide a background check (if you have ever gigged for Rover, Instacart, Shipt, Uber, Lyft, or Door Dash, then you already have a background check to provide). Once hired, you will be required to take a basic Pet CPR and First Aid class.

RESUME (it does not matter if there are no animal related jobs listed) & CONTACT INFO, what PART OF TOWN YOU LIVE IN, GENERAL AVAILABILITY (ie: you can sit over Thanksgiving week but never over Xmas, or you have a standing weekly appointment Tuesdays 10-noon, etc.), and your EXPERIENCE WITH ANIMALS (please include your link if you're a registered Rover or Wag sitter!). ***Before applying, please take into account that DOGS ARE DOGS: They shed, they fart, they slobber, they poop, they lick their butts then try to lick your face, they'll try to steal your food the second you turn your back, they will bark at the mailman and chase squirrels, they will take up the whole bed when you're trying to sleep. But they are also adorable muppets who want nothing more than to give you their love and devotion. You must be accepting of the gross to bask in the glory that is Dogs.
