Mechanical Engineer – Product Design (Assistive Technology)
Location: San Fernando Valley, CA
A leader in Assistive Technology is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team designing innovative equipment and accessories for people with disabilities and the mobility community. Our products help people maintain independence and improve quality of life in their homes.

This role is hands-on and collaborative. You’ll be involved in designing new products, improving existing ones, prototyping ideas, and helping bring concepts all the way through to production.
What You’ll Do
• Design and develop new assistive products and accessories
• Improve and refine our existing product line
• Create 3D models, assemblies, and production drawings in SolidWorks
• Build and test prototypes in our R&D facility
• Work closely with our team, clinicians, and customers to gather real-world feedback
• Attend industry trade shows and demonstrations to observe product use and gather insights
• Travel internationally to inspect production, review tooling, and oversee quality control with manufacturing partners
What We’re Looking For
• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks
• Energetic, curious, and willing to experiment with new ideas
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where projects move quickly
• Ability to take concepts from idea to prototype to production
Bonus Skills (Not Required but a Big Plus)
• Experience using machine tools such as a lathe, CNC, mill, or other fabrication equipment
• Hands-on prototyping experience
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (metal, plastics, machining, casting, etc.)
• Interest in accessibility, medical, or assistive technology products
Work Environment
This is an in-person role based in our San Fernando Valley office and R&D facility. Our workspace includes prototyping tools, testing equipment, and a team focused on building practical solutions that make a real difference in people’s lives.
